"I purchased a Baehr system two years ago for its intercom capability. After trying almost every intercom device known to man, yours is the best, hands down. You can talk at a normal level at any speed."

Chuck MacLennan, Rigaud, Quebec, Canada

"Traveling halfway around the world on a motorcycle is an adventure in itself. Doing it in 27 days to break the Trans-America World Record was a logistical nightmare. Thanks to Baehr, communicating via satellite phone with my support team in the U.S.A. made my success possible."

David Gerulski, Atlanta, GA

Q Can I use a wireless Bluetooth® cell phone with my Baehr system?

A Yes, you can send and receive your cell phone calls wirelessly! Baehr's new BluePhone Bluetooth® Adapter (ZBI-CBPU-01-01) allows any Bluetooth enabled cell phone to connect to your Baehr communications system... without wires! The Baehr BluePhone Bluetooth Adapter plugs into any Universal Interface connection on your Baehr unit. Just push the BluePhone's self-programming button once and it will find and identify your Bluetooth phone. That's all there is to it!

"Last week I installed a Baehr ULTIMA XL communication system on my Kawasaki Concours. Over the past several years I have tried many different communication and intercom systems on my bike and the Baehr has by far the clearest sound and easiest installation of anything I have tried before.

"I have an AM/FM stereo built into the bike, which feeds it's output into the Baehr. The music is clearer and cleaner than any of the other systems I have used in the past. In addition, I have an XM Satellite radio providing music input to the Baehr unit.

"The intercom works quite effectively, and the voice activation performs with no loss of conversation. The ability to set the base volume levels for rider and passenger independently make it comfortable for both my passenger and me to listen to the music. I have also connected my cell phone to the system, and have no problems placing and receiving calls without distraction.

"This is the communication system that I have been searching for over the past ten years. It does everything I want it to. The Ultima XL works for me and I look forward to adding radio for bike-to-bike abilities."

Q Can I plug my MP3 player directly into my helmet?

A Absolutely! Whether you have a Baehr helmet or your own helmet with Baehr speakers and microphone, you can bypass the Baehr unit and plug your MP3 player (or just about any portable music device) directly into your helmet with the ZBI-CRKA-01-01 adapter cable. You won't be able to take advantage of Baehr's Automatic Volume Control and Wind Noise Compensation, so set your volume to the desired level before you start your ride.

"We have been very impressed with the quality of the Baehr communications system components. In addition to the fine audio functions, the construction and connections gave our technicians simple, hassle-free installation.

"The rugged aluminum case protects the electronics from the elements, so we are provided a number of mounting options -- from deeply buried within a BMW R1150 RT's bodywork to securely nested within the tankbag of a Suzuki V-Strom.

"Connections are simple and straightforward, and the low-amperage draw of the units gives us flexibility on how to wire it to any motorcycle's existing wiring harness.

"Baehr is by far the best motorcycle audio/communications system we've encountered."

Q I just bought a Baehr unit and enjoy the quality of the intercom system. Now what do I need in order to listen to my Walkman while riding?

A To connect a Walkman to your Baehr unit, you just need the right adapter cable, which is ZBI-CRKW-01-01 (if you have a BASIC, BASIC PLUS or VERSO), or ZBI-CRKW-03-02 (if you have a VERSO XL, ULTIMA XL, R1150RT or K1200LT). These cable connect to the system's Audio Input, which is standard on all Baehr units.

"Over the last few weeks, Sandra and I have been using the V-Strom in exactly the fashion for which it was purchased -- sport-touring and short day trips. Sandra reports that the inclusion of the Baehr audio, the iPod®, and the intercom have increased her enjoyment of the ride by 1000%! We've also discovered we need to leave a small travel bag in the bike for the nights (like last Saturday) where we were having just too much fun to go home and we stayed overnight along the coast."

Q From looking at your catalog, I see that you can plug just about anything into a Baehr system, except maybe a microwave oven. Do I need adapter cables to use a 2-way radio, a GPS, or a cell phone with my Baehr system?

A Yes, any peripheral electronic device requires its own adapter cable to connect to the Universal Interface ports of your Baehr unit. Because there are so many different electronic devices available, Baehr supplies a wide range of cables to fit most anything on the market. For example, Baehr offers four different adapter cables for 2-way radios because the audio output on radios is not standardized between different manufacturers. Yours may have a 2.5mm plug, a 3.5mm plug, a double plug, or a channel-separated double plug. But whatever you have, Baehr has an adapter cable to make it happen.

"I want to give high regards to your Baehr Communications device as it was easy to install and, with the help of Caryl Reaver, it now sounds great. I had no problem installing the Baehr unit to my '05 BMW K1200LT and it worked great with the exception of the sound clarity wasn't as good as I thought it should be. I had glued the speakers to the helmet foam and it sounded like an old transistor radio. Caryl and I tried to solve the problem over the phone but nothing seemed to work.

"Caryl decided he'd ride up to my house to see if he could figure it out. The weather didn't cooperate with him so he had to drive to my house in SE Minnesota from the Chicago area, on a Sunday no less. Caryl knifed out the foam behind the speakers, then hot glued it to the helmet shell. It now sounds like a Bose® headset. I now have my cell phone and radar detector hooked in with the Baehr system. Everything works just like it's suppose to.

"I don't recall ever having customer service like this in my life. Thank you all for supplying me with a great product and a big thank you to Caryl Reaver."

Q I have a Baehr VERSO and my wife and I really enjoy talking over the intercom while riding. But we only ride together on weekends- during the week I ride alone while commuting to the office. Can I adapt the passenger intercom cable to use a cell phone?

A Yes, and it's quite simple to do. Just plug Baehr's ZBI-CAKT-02-02 adapter cable into the cable end that otherwise connects to the passenger's helmet cable. Then plug the other end into your cell phone. If your cell phone features voice-activated dialing and voice-activated call pickup, you'll have totally hands-free personal communications while riding! Be forewarned - riders who have done this with their Baehr systems have become completely addicted to it!

"I've tested the Baehr VERSO XL in a temporary setup with boom microphones for our Arai helmets, and it worked brilliantly! My wife and I can transmit and receive with excellent clarity at 80 MPH on my K1200RS! There is absolutely no ambient wind or other noise. I am going to use it until we receive our new K1200LT later this year. At that time, I'll purchase the Baehr ULTIMA XL for the LT, and keep the VERSO XL for my other bikes!"

Conrad M. Kay - Arlington, TX

"After researching motorcycle intercom systems for almost three months, I purchased and installed a Baehr ULTIMA XL communications system on my bike (1997 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe). It is a great unit and works as advertised.

"The main reasons I chose the Baehr system are its high-quality engineering and its ability to automatically prioritize each of the signals passing through it. Besides that, there is an adjustment screw for the volume and other features for EVERY input device so you can set up these features differently for your GPS voice, radar detector voice, cell phone volume, rider to passenger intercom, music device, etc.

"The representative at Baehr's United States distributor (BaehrUSA) is a great guy and he really takes his time to walk you through the decision-making process. He was professional and very patient and wanted to understand how I used my bike before he made any recommendations!"

Kevin M. Fogel - Oceanside, NY
